Toggle switch for speakers?
I love listening to my subs in my car, but when other people are in the car they cant hear the music from the front speakers and plus on long trips i have to make a lot of adjustments to the speakers. i would like to wire toggle switches so i can turn my rear speakers on and my subs off when i want to. im going to connect a ON-OFF toggle switch to the remote wire that leads to my amp to turn the subs off, but what about the rear speakers? is there a way to use a ON-OFF toggle switch without screwing up the speakers balance control or a special toggle switch that i need to get? or would i need a switch for each left/right wire?
the speakers are part of a amplifier cirket.. if the speakers are taken off the load is not on the amplifies and it will run wild.. so look at the speakers.. they have a value on them six hom eight ohm twelveohm.. this refers to the impedence of the speakers… purchase a knife switch.. double pole double throw and place a resistor across the terminals the value of the resistor would be the rating of the speaker.. 6 8 12 ohms. or you can buy what they call a pad… insert in series and this will lessen the volume of the wolfers.. you can purchase a l pad or a t pad..http://www.atlantictechnology.com/Upload/PDFs/manuals/discontinued/Sys170_manual.pdf read this its all i could find. its not exactly what i wanted but it will give you some basics.. ok
