why would a 400 watt 4 channel Alpine amplifier cut out when the bass reaches low frequencies?
It is powering 4 mid range 6×8′s and 2 10″ woofers. Mids through the A side and woofers through the B side. No bridging on either side.
Well it could be many reasons. One is that your gain is up to the maximum and when certain frequencies are to high to amplify, the amp just cut the sound wave peak that are outside it’s gain range. Other reason may be that your amp is working at full capacity causing overheating thus, the amp shut down to prevent damage. If that’s the cause replace it for a more powerful amp.
