Hooking up 5 Audiosource amps w/ 12v triggers?
Hey guys, I have a Sony ES amp w/ a 12 volt trigger output. I have 5 Audiosource amps w/ 12 volt inputs and outputs – Sony and AS require a 3.5mm jack. My dilemma is that when I run a jack to one of the amps ( Sony out to AS in ) and then the AS 12V trigger out to another AS amp in and so on ( daisy chaining) I can only trigger one of the amps to kick on. What the !@#% am I doing wrong!? Right now I have them all on autosensing so they work flawlessly, but I prefer to trigger them. Okay guru’s, any ideas?
I am not familiar with your amps but I can offer some troubleshooting ideas. Have you tried to use a different amp as the first one in the chain? It is possible the12v out from that amp does not work. And thus your chain is broken by the first amp.
Have you checked each amp individually to see if the trigger works on all of them?
Check the functionality of the 12v trigger. It most likely will not be possible to use both the 12v trigger and auto sensing as it would be redundant.
Be sure you switch ALL the amps to turn on with the 12v trigger, not signal sensing. Hope this helps.
