how do you enable OS selection timer in bios?
My computer had dual boot between two hard drives one of which I got rid of. The OS however was still selectable it was the first choice but when you chose it it just restarted the system since it wasn’t there. Well I disabled the OS timer in windows hoping it would automatically choose the second OS and start windows but instead it chooses the first os which doesn’t exist. So now I can not turn on my computer. How can I enable the OS selection timer again through bios? HELP PLEASE! THANKS!!!!
OS selection isn’t possible through BIOS.
You’ve got to do the following :
- as soon as you turn on your computer keep pressing the F8 key and see if some of the options helps you (I can’t recall what the options are, but maybe there’s something there).If your hard drive is FAT32 formated just boot your PC with a DOS boot disk and edit the c:boot.ini file.
If it is NTFS formated you’re in trouble. You have to download the NTFS bootdisk from the link below and then edit the same file.Good luck.
