What Chromatic Guitar Tuner?
I am teaching myself to play guitar, but I cant seem to be able to tune it with any of the techniques online, so I want to buy a chromatic tuner. Can anyone suggest the best brand that isn’t way expensive or that I can get on ebay. I ask about ebay because I want one cheap, but I fear that they can may be damaged and not tune right?? I have no idea how to explain what I am talking about, so I hope you understand.
I do have a guitar, though it is rather cheap. Don’t say I need an expensive guitar, I took my guitar into Guitar Center and several of the workers there said the guitar was fine and they even played it
I fangirled unnecessarily.
Most tuners these days are excellent. I would definitely advise getting a tuner with a mic (so it can be used on acoustics) as well as an input jack. If you are just playing at home, you can get something basic. If you are looking to hold onto the tuner for a long time, and play in a band setting at sometime, you should look into getting a tuner that acts as a pedal or can be plugged inline with your other pedals. Granted, you will pay a little more for a tuner like that, but it saves you from getting a cheap tuner now and then upgrading later. I use a Boss TU2 which is around $80. Its great for playing in the studio or on stage. If thats a bit much for you, most basic chromatic tuners are very good. Korg as the other answerer mentioned makes a great product as does Boss/Roland. Planet Waves and Snark both make affordable chromatic tuners also, however the Snark one is a little flimsy.
I included a link with a bunch of tuners. $20-$30 will get you something halfway decent. Over $50 will get you something that should suit you for playing out live.
