Are the preamp tube covers in a guitar amp necessary?
I am getting a guitar amp head soon and I love the way the tubes glow, especially the bright pre amps. They usually have metal covers over them, but are those necessary? I want to see the glow but don’t want to damage them.
I assume they are heat shields in which case I wouldn’t remove them, but I could be totally wrong.
