Yamaha bass??????????
I have a Yamaha RBX 200, I know they don’t make then anymore but when did they first come out and when did they stop making them.
Also how do you adjust the truss rod? On my Ibanez all I had to do was move it with an elan(not sure about spelling) wrench at the top of the head, on my RBX 200 there’s a hole at the bottom of the neck but it’s not for an elan wrench. Thanks any info will be good.
The RBX series first debuted during the late 80s or early 90s I believe. They do still make the RBX instruments but the model numbers have changed a bit. I am looking at a musicians friend catalog with an RBX 170 and a RBX 374.
Most Yamaha basses have a truss rod adjustment point where the neck meets the body. (such as yours) This does not use a standard alan wrench. It requires a certain tool that should have come with the bass. If you do not have it than inquire with your local Yamaha dealer. I do not recommend adjusting it yourself unless you have experience doing so. It is possible to damage the neck by improperly adjusting it. Let your local music store do it for you.
