    what type of wire do i use in my guitar?

    im rewireing my les paul and i need to know what type of wire where i can get it also i got a set of pots and i dont know which ones are tone pots and which are vol pots they are from mity mite 2 have a on it and the others have b on them can you guys help me thanks

    Do yourself a favor. Dont do this. I dont mean to sound cruel, but you have no idea of what you are doing here. You have a Les Paul. Why do you feel the need to rewire it in the first place? I mean, I know it’s fun to be adventurous, but if you want to mess around with rewiring something to learn how to do it, rewire the other guitar.

    That being said, you can get rewiring rigs from Guitar Center, zzzsounds, Music123, Musician’s Friend, Sam Ash…most reputable guitar stores. The kits will come with wiring diagrams and all of the parts you need. You are going to have to learn how to make clean solder connections. Basically, you need to learn basic wiring techniques if you are going to do it right. I STRONGLY suggest that for your first attempt you have someone with you who knows what’s going on.

    Here’s a dead giveaway about your understanding. Pots are pots. There is no such thing as a “volume pot” or a “tone pot.” Pots are rated by the resistance range, and can be used in any application that calls for that range. It’s possible that both of them are the same rating. Also, what is the right range for one set of pickups might not be quite right for another set of pickups. It’s not always as easy as swapping out pickups or controls.

    Anyway, those are my suggestions. The main one being, DONT MESS UP YOUR LES PAUL.
