A good acoustic- electric guitar?
Hi all,
I hope someone can help me out with this. I’m looking for a guitar I can play unplugged. That will have good tone and such in doing so. However, I don’t want a full sized acoustic. I’d prefer a thin body, more along the looks of an electric. I like the Taylor T5s thinness. Yet I’ve heard mixed reviews on its unplugged sound. The same with the Crafter Sa (The taylors copy). I would think that there would have to be a solution for this. Whether it be to mod the crafter or taylor with something that could amplify the sound inside the body?? Can someone help me out here? Thanks in advance!i believe the t5 is built more like a semi-hollow guitar, so the acoustic tone is greatly diminished.
you might try something like the guild songbird, which has the free floating top like a regular acoustic guitar, but is thin as the back and sides are made from a solid piece of wood. here’s one on ebay:
