Theory Fretboard Chart

in what order do the intervals in a chord have to be? (if there is an order)?
i need to know so that i don’t have to refer to a chord book/chart every time i see a new chord. now, im not talking about giving me the intervals to a chord, like 1 3 5, but explaining the order that they must be in to be a correct chord. ex: where the root note has to be, which intervals must go before others, do the intervals have to be in numerical order, etc… (if it helps, i know my fretboard and have a basic understanding of theory)
It doesn’t matter as long as the notes are in the same key. The root note doesn’t need to be the lowest, either. An easy example is that a chord can have it’s root on the first string without the sixth string being played. It’s the key that determines everything. I hope I understood your question and answered it.
