What electric guitar should I get?
I’ve been playing guitar for about 5 years now. I have a Martin and now it’s time to upgrade to an electric. My main choices are a Fender Stratocaster or a Fender Telecaster. The styles of music that I play are Rock, Blues, Power-Pop, Punk-Rock etc. I like music like Big Star, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Guns N’ Roses, Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, The Clash, The Ramones etc. My budget for a guitar is $500 or more. I’m leaning towards a Fender Strat or a Fender Tele. Also, what amp should I buy?
I also like Jimi Hendrix.
Edit: I’m not looking for a huge amp. I want one with 15-30 watts.
Edit: I don’t want to spend more than $300.
Edit: I kind’ve want the Vox AC-30, but I know it’s over my budget. I might buy it; or I might buy the Vox AC-15.Based on your likes, I’d go with the Tele B-bender, coupled with a Marshall JCM-800. That should do you nicely.
