electric guitar strings are dry, fingers stick?
I’m a beginner guitar player and I just changed the strings on my 52 tele re-issue last week and they felt great, easy and smooth. I’ve practiced alot, maybe 15 hours since then and now when I slide say from the 5th to 7th fret, really anywhere on the neck, my fingers stop dead in the tracks during the slide. Is this because the strings are dirty and need to be changed? Do they sell some sort of lotion/grease that I can put on the strings? The strings feel dry when I slide.
I do see grime and dirt on the frets I’ve mainly been practicing on and I’m going to start to wipe down the strings from now on after every practice.
ps: also, I didnt realize the guitar is a totally different instrument when you stand and play compared to sitting down, I’ve been sitting forever practicing and now I wanna get serious and actually play some songs from end to finish and it is tuff work!get finger ease. its in a spray can. or you can use metal polish
