LGBT: Is it true that homosexuals have more colour receptors in our eyes than heterosexuals?
And that’s the reason the rainbow was adopted as our mascot? Could that also explain why gay people tend to be more colour coordinated and our personalities often more colourful?
Or is it just a string of blind coincidences?
I’ve often wondered why the gay symbol was a rainbow. Ask yourself, what is a rainbow but light being relfected off of a prism (in nature’s case, individual drops of water, or rain). Then you see the magnificant colors in the sky! How is that even closely assoicated with gay people?
You do make some interesting points though. I don’t think necessarily that we have more color receptors in our eyes. Everyone sees the same thing, technically, for the most part unless you are “color deficient”. (People say color blind but it’s not that, because some people can actually see colors, they just need a special colored lens in front of their eyes and they see normally). LOL There’s your science lesson. Maybe you knew already?
Back to your question. I will say this though. I do believe that homosexuals probably do “see” (as in understand and are more open and accepting) than heterosexuals. Is it because they are gay? Possibly. Gay people are more creative, at least I’ve noticed. It may not be so much their sexuality because there are straights that are very creative too. Many factors play into it. I think a big one is fear.
I don’t wish to bore you with this, and plus, I keep getting off track. This question really flared up a lot in my mind! So many ideas. =D
