Do you know your stratocasters? I need to identify mine!?
I recently purchased a Stratocaster guitar from a site called kijijji. The guitar was supposed to be a highway one Strat. On closer investigation that appears to not be the case. The highway one has a satinish finish that is quite dull which my guitar has. However the HWY 1 also has a large head stock with a large “Stratocaster” logo on it. My new guitar does not have this large logo on it. It has the Stratocaster word in small letters and “Made in USA” below the main Fender logo.
I guess my question is – is there any other Strat that has the nitro finish on it besides the HWY 1 ?
I know the obvious is that my guitar might have a different neck on it than the Original HWY 1 neck but perhaps not.
Can any one help?Hi! You probably do have a Highway One Stratocaster, but it may be one of the earlier year models (2002 through 2006) when Fender used the smaller (vintage-style) headstock. Check the serial number against the Fender data base at http://www.fender.com/support/usa_instruments.php to verify the date-of-manufacture. Best regards, Dana
