What would be a good rock setting with my amp, guitar, and big muff pi?
Before I begin I n know that some of you are going to say that I should find my own sound which I agree with but since switched to guitar about two months ago after playing bass for about 5-6 years I don’t really know where to begin. When I started playing guitar I was more into blues and I know how to get that sound but I also want to play some newer rock just for fun. Any advice would be awesome. Here is a list of my equipment.
Guitar: Fender Deluxe Power Stratocaster: The guitar has two single coil Tex-Mex pickups at the neck and middle and a humbucker at the bridge. It also has piezo fishman power bridge.
Big Muff Pi: I can adjust volume, tone, and sustain
Amp: Fender Hot Rod Deluxe

Stay on your bridge pickup, as the humbucker is going to give your a fuller, more “rock-n-roll” sound.
I would still get most of my crunch from the amp, and leave the Big Muff for leads (chords can get a little lost in it).
Turn your input gain up to about 7 or so (just where the sound is starting to sustain). Bass/Mid/Treble should probably be somewhere around 4/8/6.
For the pedal, without know exactly which Big Muff you have (there are several versions and incarnations), I can’t give you exact settings there. Start with the tone at about 2:00, the sustain at 12:00, and the volume at 10:00 and go from there.
