Guitar question: Is the 1998 MIM stratocaster neck compatible with a 2002 stratocaster body?
I bought a 2002 MIM to replace the 1998 body for the strat that I was using because of a bridge crack in the center of one of the screw holes. The neck seems to be askew on the 2002 body because the high e-string placement and tone/volume quality. Also, the bridge plate does not entirely cover the routed body slot since there is a slight gap visible between the body and the metal bridge bracket. The person on selling on ebay, whom I bought from, has all positive comments and seems to continually sell these fender MIM bodies. Is this common for MIM stratocaster production.
Any recommendations for bridge block replacement and the improvements to sound over the stock bridge block is another interest I am wondering about.
