What is the strongest kind of guitar strap that you can buy?
I want a different strap for my Jackson Rhoads guitar, and I need to know what a really strong, good kind of strap would be, I have tried strap locks, but the pegs are a bit too big for them to fit…
Have you tried the Schaller-style strap locks? With those, you’d unscrew the end pins from your guitar and replace them with the Schaller ones. Then there are metal things you attach to the strap which lock it onto the new end pins. I prefer that style to the Dunlop ones, which hold the strap too far away from the guitar body for my taste. And the Schaller ones are pretty much indestructible. I’ve got them on all my guitars.

Nylon straps are really strong, but tend to slide around a lot because the fabric is slick. I prefer a thick, soft leather strap like those made by Levy’s. They’re a little expensive, but will last forever and have a lot of character. And as they age, they take on a nice patina that makes them as beloved and familiar as an old pair of jeans.
