I Thought I Saw Stars

So luminous they were , and such an enormous size;
I fell on the floor and foamed at the mouth, with inconsequential cries
Now, when I look in your eyes, I do not flinch;
Heaven forgive me, I am not even tempted to lynch
The men who, standing beside you, display an inclination to pinch
For this insensitivity may I be pardoned,
I looked in your eyes too often, and in the end became hardened,
There came a day when Adam turned his back upon Eve, and gardened.It is a Love Poem.
It goes through the entire relationship.
When he first meets her, he is knocked out by her beauty (first 3 lines)
As he spends more time with her, he becomes accustomed to her and knows the real her, and it isn’t so nice …. And he grows immune to her beauty (line 4)
And he is no longer jealous when others want to touch her — he no longer cares who she is with because he has been hurt by her too often (lines 5 –
He turns his back to her and pursues other interests — possibly other women (last line)
