They are pretty decent – mind you, you can get a full blown Gibson for about the same price if you choose the Melody Maker. It’s the guitar that Joan Jett uses. You can get one for about £250 if you shop around.

As for the other guy saying to avoid Squiers – well, I have a JV that is one of the best guitars I ever played and the new “vintage vibe” issues are brilliant. Again, two and a half hundred quid will get you a very decent instrument.
