I’m in the maket for a semi-hollow or fully hollow electric that doesn’t cost much. Ibanez or Gibson?

I love the artcore ibanez guitars too. john scofield plays one and it sounds terrific.
Gibson hollow or semi hollow body guitars cost a fortune (a fortune to me anyway, maybe youre rolling in cash;). but epiphone make some superb semi hollow electric guitars. I have an epiphone sheraton II and i can honestly say its the nicest guitar ive ever had. epiphone make a nice range of a few different guitars designed for the jazz musician, and contrary to what some people think, epiphone are not just a less expensive version of gibson. epiphone existed on its own before gibson bought it in 1957, and was making archtop guitars in the 1920s, and banjos and mandolins since the early 1870s. epiphone were ranked alongside gibson as the best guitar makers in the world during the 20s – 50s….sorry i rambled myself into a history lesson there…. www.epiphone.com is a good place to look, click on the archtops link.
When i bought mine, I was looking at either the epi or the ibanez (i have had loads of solid body ibanezes and i love them), and i think the only reason i got the epi was that it was about a case of beers worth cheaper and it was a hot day and i was thirsty, both were awesome.
oh, and the gibsons are all pretty phenomenal, but theyre too expensive. there just isnt enough difference in quality for the huge price difference (many people will say there is no difference at all).
