Bass amplifier and effects pedal?
Okay, for Christmas, I plan on getting these two items:

Well, instead of getting the effects pedal, should I just get an amp head instead?
I don’t know if the sansamp would be okay or not. I’m kinda new to choosing these things.Advice, or a suggestion of a decently sized amp that isn’t a fortune would be appreciated.
You should probably get the head rather than the pedal, because unless you just auditioned for Slipknot and they told you that the only thing you need to join the band is a bass effects pedal, you really don’t need one.
As to the Cab, I’d say it looks okay. As to the head, they’re usually a lot more expensive than a cab. But a Gallien-Krueger Backline 600 has the punch and the power to deliver. And it’s pretty cheap, so if I were you, go with that.
As to being new to choosing gear, you have to be careful about what reviews you read on stuff, because usually people who write reviews are the ones who really like the product. Also, just try to play on a lot of different equipment, and see what you like about anything.
