Which guitar pedals would be best?
I’m looking at getting some guitar pedals…and I was wondering, is it best to have all the same brand of pedals, or does it really not matter? I was looking at a Boss DS-1 Distortion Pedal, Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Morley PWO-GLO Power Wah, and either a GarageTone Series Axle Grease Delay or Rocktron Reaction Digital Delay.
Any alternatives that would be better at lower to same cost? are those two reverb pedals good?
Mixing brands of effects boxes will not cause any problem. Putting a bunch of boxes in line is itself problematic though. Consider a all in one processor like the Digitech RP series for example. A muliti-effects processor will allow you to set and store presets that can be recalled via foot-switch or midi. In addition, using only one box will keep your noise floor to a minimum and minimize connections and failure points not to mention 9 Volt batteries.
If you do choose to run several boxes in series, take care to organize them in an order so that they do not negatively effect each other. For example, do you want to distort your flange or flange post distortion? Logically, I would think you would want any overdrive or distortion to be last in line so yoru not processing a distorted signal from go. Or maybe not.
