How can I fit my Telecaster into an acoustic band?
So I’m in a new band now, an acoustic trio at the moment, we’re covering a few Jack Johnson songs and writing some surf influenced acoustic stuff. Only problem is my one and only guitar is a Squire Telecaster, I don’t have an acoustic guitar and I don’t like playing them (I’ve been borrowing the bass player’s guitar).
I’m wondering if there is any thing I can do that will fit my Telecaster into this sound without drowning out the acoustic guitar and bass, and without sounding stupid or overly heavy. I’m hoping to get a Fender Frontman 212R amp sometime soon, maybe its because my current amp is too small (only about 15W), it just sounds crunchy and weird. Are there any effects I can get (reverb, etc) that will help it blend in for a relaxed sound?

Maybe the bass player’s guitar is set up incorrectly and has bad action, or maybe it’s just not a good guitar. Get yourself a quality acoustic guitar like a Fylde or a Peter Barton and you’ll learn what a quality acoustic sounds and plays like. Forget trying to fit the Tele into an acoustic band.
