Electric guitars…time for me to (10 points best answer)?
So, I’ve been playin electric guitar for around 2 years now. My first guitar was

yeah pricy for a first guitar. But i stuck with it. For 2 years. I now think i might want to upgrade to a fender, Yes i’ve considered others. I love schecters and they are my choice for bass. But for guitar i want a guitar that can do more than hard rock (les pauls are good for punk and zepppelin stuff but i want to play some weezer and blues things) So i was considering upgrading what fender do you think i should upgrade to. or should i not upgrade? and why

Classic rock (the who, pink floyd)
and others. Im not saying my les paul is BAD because it ISNT! but i want another guitar moer suited. the most i can spend is 700 (that INCLUDES TAX) so please suggest a fender and why that one.thanks in advance
A standard Stratocaster would be ideal for the styles you want to play. The three single-coil pickups are the choice of lots of blues and classic rock guitarists, such as Robert Cray and Eric Clapton. And you’d have more tone options than you’d get with a Telecaster, which tends to sound more twangy. Since you’ve been playing a Les Paul, the transition to a Fender should be really pleasant, as well. Fender necks are much thinner than Gibson/Epiphone ones, so moving between chords and notes is incredibly comfortable.
You can get a standard Stratocaster for $500+tax at Musician’s Friend or Guitar Center. And those things hold their value really well — even the Mexican-made ones. And the sunburst ones seem to retain their value more than the colored ones, since they look vintage — classic. You’ll also have your choice of maple or rosewood for the fretboard. I’m partial to Strats with rosewood fingerboards, since they aren’t as slippery, but if you want a change from the Les Paul, it’s worth test driving the maple.
