What are the Fender Strat Screws for a pickguard?
I am building a Fender Strat and would like to know what kind of screws are used to mount a pickguard?? Is there some kind of type (identification #) that i can buy at a local Home Depot or Lowes???
ThanksI would go to Lowe’s. They have a large individual screw selection there. Ours is across from the lawn equipment on the first aisle.
The screws are philips head, with a rounded or oval top and countersunk style. You should be able to get them in stainless steel. The pick guard holes must be drilled with a 100 degree countersunk bit.
Look in drawer # A17 in the Lowe’s hardware drawers. The #6 or #4 screw should do it. You’d have to match it up to the pickguard.
Here is an example of the style head i am talking about. If you can’t find them at Lowes, then Ace hardware or a boating supply store may have them.
