Where can I buy Wonton Wrappers???

I’d like to try and recreate a “Cream Cheese Wonton” recipe from a chinese restaurant chain called Pick Up Stix.

I’ve tried to locate wonton wrappers at my nearest grocery store (Safeway), but haven’t found them. Do any supermarket chains carry these? Or do I need to go to a specialty foods store or an asian market? I’m in Sacramento, California, so if anyone has any advice, please let me know.

Also, does anyone have a good recipe for cream cheese wontons (a seafood-free version)? The only ingredients that I know are in the Pick Up Stix ones are wonton wrappers, cream cheese, and minced water chestnuts.

Thanks in advance to all the replies :)

How funny, my kids love those! Just had them the other day, they are good!

I have seen wonton skins everywhere: albertsons, safeway….they are widely & easily available. Try an Asian market or speciality grocery store.

    Apparently this is it!

    Ingredients:

    ***Filling:***
4 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
    1 egg yolk
1/2 can of water chestnuts, drained and minced
    finely chopped green onions
    salt & pepper to taste
    wonton skins

    Directions:

Mash cream cheese in a bowl with fork until smooth. Add the egg yolk, salt, pepper, water chestnuts and green onions; mix until completely lump-free; set aside. If time allows, refrigerate for 2 hours for easier handling.

Using store-bought wonton wrappers or your own, place a teaspoon of cream cheese mixture on a wrapper. Gather up the edges; pinch to enclose. Set on cookie sheet; repeat with remainder. Heat 4 to 5 cups oil in wok or skillet to 350 degrees; fry 5 or 6 wontons at a time for 3 to 4 seconds or until light golden brown. They will puff up, so don’t fry too many at once. Remove and drain on wire rack or paper toweling. Serve with warm dipping sauce.
