How to install B157 EMG pickup buss for two pickups into a Fender jazz bass?
Two different problems:
A) There does not seem to be any instruction on how to wire the output. My old passive pickups(stock) had only two places to attach wires to the output. The EMG’s have three. Since I had three wires left, I just randomly assigned them. Every thing seems to work, but I would like to know if there is an exact way this should be done.
B)There does not seem to be enough room in the cavity for the new electronics. Unless there is a very exact way to place the 9v battery and the circuit board inside the bass. Can I cut (with a router or dremel) a space to fit the new hardware without ruining the resonance of my bass? It is a solid body and there is some space adjacent to the existing cavity. Should I consider making an external power supply? I think I can get the circuit board to fit if I removed the 9v.
I say go to guitar center and have them install it its not expensive and takes like 20 minutes
