Which is a better neck for my guitar? Maple wood, ebony, or rosewood?
I play many different types of music so I am looking for versatile tones, i have no idea which to go for.
I’m putting it on a Michael Kelly if that helps.Ebony is the brightest in timbre as its a even denser wood than maple and its great for pronouncing notes and playing. Maple is a very dense wood and it gives off a very bright sound with a tiny bit of warmth and its great to play. Rosewood is a wood that gives off a very warm sound and its also amazing to play, and its easier to take care of because you can use fretboard cleaners and conditioners on it unlike maple. But hey dont take my word for it, go to your closest guitar store and try out those 3 necks on the guitar you have and see which one you like best
