Guitar Multi Effect Pedal?
Ok this is going to sound like a stupid question…see I’ve been playing guitar for a couple of years now but I only got an amp last week…so my question is what exactly do multi effect pedals do?
would it be cheaper to buy a multi effect pedal than to buy separate pedals: like buy a distortion pedal, a wah pedal, chorus pedal, etc.?
Multi effects pedals do a myriad of different things. I myself use the roland vg88 guitar processor. Its like having many amps and effects all rolled into one processor. I also have the roland gr33 guitar synth, I don’t use it as much as the vg88. The vg88 also allows me to play in various tunings instead of standard e-b-g-d-a-e. At the click of a program you can be playing all fifths, or drop D -2 .. or anything you want to mess around with.
Some folks like to have the pedals displayed in front of them in separate fashion. You have more control this way, you can just reach down and make an adjustment. But with the effect processors you get much more effects to control.
Most beginning guitarists like to have a distortion pedal, flanger and chorus and maybe even a wah pedal. All that stuff is built into the vg88 and much more.
Its not a stupid question, btw. This is actually one of the best questions I’ve seen today. I’ll attach a pic of my studio for you to drool over
