Do they already have this guitar model or needs to have it customed?
I was thinking of buying a CANDY green strat. Not like claptons. Not dark green. something like a neon color green. You get what i mean? I wanted that green strat to have a black pickguard. Maybe a strat green all over (ex. neck) What i was planning to do was insert green pickup guards (or a blue one) and green sound knobs. And maybe add red strings. all i’m concerned with is if they already have a basic green strat that’s cheap…. (like the beginner’s 300 bucks sorta thing) then i’ll customize it. also… is it safe to repaint a guitar neck (the back of it)
That kind of green is not available on a regular series strat, you will have to get it custom-painted or you can do it yourself if you know how to, if not here’s how: You could get a strat with a black pickguard (they are common), take all the parts off and use sanding paper on the body paint until you see the wood, but make sure you do it gradually (going form rougher sand paper to smoother). Then you will apply at least 3 coats primer, then about 3-4 coats of the green color paint and finally a clear coat (you must let each coat dry before you can apply the next one. If you don’t know how to take apart a guitar by yourself then you might have to take it to someone who does.
As far as the knobs and pickups rings being green, you can get green knobs but I’m not sure about the rings. Red strings you could get from DR Strings. The neck can be painted as long as you cover the frets and fretboard with tape and following the same procedure mentioned for the body; I suppose the neck has clear coat so you do have to sand it down but not a lot (only use smooth sanding paper) otherwise you might leave the neck feeling rough and that’s not good so be careful with that part, and make sure you do it evenly.
I don’t know about you but I personally wouldn’t spend money getting a cheap guitar like that custom painted unless you do it yourself, but if you don’t end up spending a lot of money then go with it. Good luck!
