Bronze and silver strings on a classical guitar WITH a truss rod?
Ok, so I bought a Fransiscan CN-8 classical guitar at a garage sale yesterday…it came with acoustic strings on and they seller also gave me a new packet of “Martin acoustic guitar strings Marquis” strings. The guitar has a truss rod, so my question is would the strings warp the guitar or affect the sound or damage the guitar in any way? Or should I just get a new packet of nylon strings?
Also, how do you replace classical guitar stringss?!

Steel strings are not good on a guitar made for nylon strings. They might not warp the neck, but they won’t sound good. Plus they’ll be a lot harder to tune because the tuning pegs are bigger around. And the action on a nylon string guitar is higher because the strings vibrate ‘wider’.
I would say you should get a set of nylon strings to put on it. Or trade it for a steel-stringed guitar.
Replacing nylon guitar strings is very easy. At the bridge end they go through the hole, then back over the bridge and around the string. At the head end you stick them through the hole in the peg, then wrap around the peg and through again. Look at how they’re installed on the guitar now and do that. At a music store you can get a peg crank that will make changing strings a lot easier and quicker. If you play a lot, nylon strings should be replaced more often than steel strings, maybe twice a year. They stretch a lot at first so you do a lot of re-tuning for the first few days until they’re ‘stretched out’.
