What can you tell me about my 1980′s Japanese Fender Stratocaster?
I have never seen one exactly like it. It is a mix of contemporary and traditional strat style. It is sunburst finished with maple neck and rosewood fretboard. It has 3 very good sounding single coils, 3 knobs, 5 position switch, and the traditional style plug. The thing that makes it ‘contemporaty’ is the Kahler/Fender System I locking tremolo, which is complete, and works well. What gets me, is that most Strats I see with this locking trem have black necks and solid colors and humbuckers to cater to the 80′s metal crowd of the day. Is this guitar a bit more rare? In good condition (a few small dings on the bottom) – any guess as to value?
