What Guitar Should i Get?
Ealier this week i fell over on some ice while walking home from uni with my Gibson SG standard. It was in the case so i thought nothing of it until i got home opened the case and found the headstock was basically snapped off
Luckily the guitar is insured, and i should be getting around £1000 for a new guitar.
Thing is i can’t decide what to get.
Im getting the SG repaired although it will still have a crack in it, but i dont want another SG although they are amazing guitars
Should i go for a strat? a Les Paul? a Ibanez RG? a Dean? Im totally confused
I play most types of music, Rock, Metal, Punk, Blues, Country, Jazz, Neo Classical so really i just want a guitar that sounds really good, plays well, and looks good.
Any Ideas?

If you are into neo-classic, jazz, blues etc….get a Jackson. It has 24-fret, active electorncis, the fingerboard and playability is far better than any Fender.
Not that Fender are no good. Contrary. But, wi Jackson, because of its active electronics, you can actually get the fender sound on it. Plus, it has as much punch as a Gibson Les Paul.
What I like is the quick response and the sustain especially on the high ends where most guitar fall flat. The sweeps & arpeggios sound just as good or better than Fender.I can compace because I own a ’63 Gibson Les Paul, a ’62 Fender, and a Jackson. Also, the Floyd Rose tremolo and locking mechanism are awesome on Jackson.
As for your headstock. I owned a 1953 Les Paul, and the head stock snapped when I dropped it on the sofa. Imagine. SG ‘s weak point ? >>>Head stock as for most Gibson except the Les paul built from the 60′s and up.
If the Luthier knows his stuff, the repair shouldn’t be noticeable. We have the correct finishings and material to cover any repairs.
