any bass players out there **10 points for the best answer**?
I’ve been playing bass for about a year using my dads old Encore bass from, over 20 years ago http://www.bass-guitar-museum.com/uploads/bass/12/220136163476-1.jpg
(same type, just white pickguard)
and i want a new bass, i’m leaning towards a fender either a jazz bass $200, or the Geddy Lee (bassist/singer for Rush) signature bass $1,200 or the Persicion bass $800
what should i get?
or should i look into Gibson basses some?please tell me which bass i should get
If you want a good quality instrument, it will cost you more then $200. The P bass is widely used by a ton of players, I personally don’t care for them because of their bulky size. The Jazz is a bit more comfortable in my opinion and has a slightly thinner neck which will make playing a bit easier for you if you have small hands. You can`t go wrong with either the Jazz or the Precision as they are both very good. I would recommend going to a music store and trying both out to see which feels better to you and has the tone you are looking for. Hope this helps. As for the Gibsons, I personally never liked thier necks. I play a Schecter Stilletto Custom 5 and an Ibanez SR800. The Sheceter is absolutely amazing for the money. Very well built, beautiful neck and EMG pickups thatsound great. It was only $599. You should try one of these out as well, I think you will be impressed.
