How to properly position Floyd Rose?
Well my dad has had this Ibanez Joe Satriani signature guitar since like the 80′s, and he passed it on to me, but the Floyd Rose seems to be out of position, I’m good with guitars, it’s just I’ve never had to worry about a Floyd Rose before, now when I put the tremolo arm in if I was to use it it would hit the body straight on, it’s kind of in a diagonal swerve.

But I want to get it into the simple 1st position, I’d normally tinker around and figure it out, but this is a really expensive guitar with some sentimental value and I want to make sure I’m doing it right the first time, there are two spots on the sides to unscrew it, and the Floyd Rose model is pretty simple, I think just one of the original ones. Maybe pro.
I can expand more if needed, but any advice? I feel like a noob asking this

Now to get to the question… Okay Flip over your guitar and take off the back plate. Look at the springs. They’re attached to something called a spring claw.

Look at the 2 screws. Are they screwed in all the way? If not keep screwing it in untill it levels out the bridge. After you do that you might have to tinker with it a little to get the tuning and angle perfect.
If that doesn’t work.. Change your spring position so that the 2 outermost springs make an arrow shape.
If that fails. Then buy new springs. Your old ones are probably worn to oblivion anyway.
