Why is my sister always like this?
I’m 16 and my sister is 13, nearly 14. She is quite shy in school and is very good in class and comes home with unbelievable grades consistantly. She has already taken her GCSE in French and has come out with an A. She is very talented and is at grade 7 in classical guitar and can play the mandolin and piano skilfully. She acts totally normal in school but when she comes home she is always depressed and in a bad mood. She goes straight upstairs and stays there for about an hour on facebook (not chatting to anyone) and comes back down. She always makes really loud stupid noises randomly in front of us all (even when our grandparents come over) like screaming, doing random loud opera singing and makes animal noises sometimes. She also randomly starts doing movements with her head and arms, like sort of weird dancing at any point of the day. Is this just a phase or is she completely un-normal?
Sounds like she feels like she does not get any positive attention at home which would explain her depression and her acting out. Try to do things with her that are fun for her so she knows she is wanted and loved at home. Take her with you sometimes when you go places too. See if that changes anything. If not then talk to her about it because if she trusts you she will talk. You never know what really happens in other peoples lives, she could have also had a trauma she is keeping secret. Being her friend is the best thing you can do for her because eventually she will open up.
