Soooo I have a curse of being in the front row and getting hit by the band by accident. The singer of I Am Ghost basically punched me in the face and apologized profusely when I talked to him later.The bass player of…. I think it was a band called Schoolyard Heroes, the bass player/frontman smacked the top of my skull with his bass peg and I knocked him out of tune. At the end of the song he goes “Hey you. I expect an apology for knocking my bass out of tune with your skull. Just kidding, sorry for bruising your head”
I had a drumstick from… I think it was Madina Lake bounce off my face.
And have been randomly hit in the head by the band at many random shows.
Anyway, those are my funny moments of cursenage (that’s a word now)
What are some interesting concert moments you’ve had?I seem to have an issue with food in the pits. I have been taken out twice by a whopper. I have also slipped on rain and ice.
First with the whopper. I was at a battle of the bands show and there was a punk band on stage…with no singer. Prob half way into the song a guy comes flying through the doors pulling up his pants and has a whopper in his mouth. He jumps up on stage and looks at the sandwitch and throws it out in the crowd. I later found out apparently he had been with his girl in his van when he heard his band start to play. He came flying in pulling up his pantsand trying to get a quick bite in. Well i went in the pit, and sure enough slipped on a tommato. Whats worse is the next battle same thing happened with the whopper, and i slipped on it again. At least he had his pants on this time, but needs to concider eating before his band comes on.
Another incident is I saw Megadeth at an outdoor arena, and it rained during their set. Near the stage is cement, and as I turned around the pit I discovered that my 6 or 7 year old boots didn’t have the best traction on wet ground. No one with in prob 5 feet of me, and went down.
Another bar show and a drink gets nocked into the pit. Yes I am the one who found the ice in the pit.
The second time I saw Dark Tranquility I was talking to their bass player before their set. I had asked him if he was doing good since last time he played there he tripped on a chord and gasjed his forearm on one of the monitors. He said ya, but when he saw Phoenix on the list again his respoce was “great this time i will prob break my f’n neck”
The first time I saw Paradise Lost I was hanging out with them after the show. They have got to bee the funniest group of guys. A friend of mine had brought everything they have ever done to get signed. And i mean singles, compilations, everything. Well as the drummer was getting near the end he told my friend that if he wasn’t able to masterbate he would hold my friend responsible. almost on que the singer walks by stated not to worry he would help. The whole night they just never missed a beat. They S-bombed he owners house of the club. It was pretty funny.
At Napalm Death they had done their set and went off stage. A guy from the crowd jumps up on stage and asks if the people want to hear any drums. He gets some cheers and gets behind the kit. He actually wasn’t bad. Well shortly after the members of Napalm come walking out from back stage just staring at the guy. The guy very timidly puts down the drum sticks and backs away from the kit. He gets to about middle stage raises his hands and shouts out in glee and runs off the stage. Suprisingly the singer just shakes his head and they do an oncore.
A female friend of mine is a big Gene Hoglan fan. At one of the times I saw Strapping I was hanging out with Gene after the show. He had inquired about her. I informed Gene she had baled since she had to work early. Then it dawns on me to call her and put Gene on the phone. So I do. After a short conversation Gene informs me my friend is on her way back. She calls me an A-hole when she arrives, but I know she had a good time.
