guitar hard shell strap?
im looking for something that may not be able to be found… what i essentially need is a hard shell guitar case for an acoustic guitar, that is water proof (or at-least resistant) and has a strap for carrying it on your back, as well as the side handle…. and i would also like said case to have room to carry accessories, and maybe my coat, or other things…. anyone know of such a thing? or can find one? or know some way to modify an existing one…or perhaps suggest something else, i would like to be able to travel on foot with a hard-shell guitar case (to protect my guitar), that is “light weight” and perhaps has some storage room
There are plastic hard shell cases that are waterproof and form fitted for most acoustic guitars. They do not have a lot of storage space in them (certainly not enough to fit your coat) The do not have straps for carrying them so what you will need to use a large back pack (the type that use a frame and large pack like hikers use) This will give you enough extra storage space and still allow you to carry the instrument on your back.
There are companies that make very nice padded gig bags that are moisture resistant and even have some hard inserts that offer a bit more protection than a standard gig bag. Do some research and ask some of your local music stores for information.
