What is the best tube guitar amp for $300-$500?
I’ve been looking at the peavey valveking 112, but want a fender. any other recommendations?
I’ve got a Fender hot rod deluxe, and it’s pretty good, but I’ve had some problems w/ it.
I would suggest trying to find a vintage tube amp from like the 60s or 70s. If there are any vintage music shops in your area, you should look there. Also try eBay or Craigslist and see if you can find a bargain. My dad has an old Music Man amp from the 70s that sounds amazing – way better than my Fender.
Edit: If you’re going to buy a new one, Marshalls are probably your best bet. But if you’re stuck between the Peavy and a Fender, go w/ the Fender. Also, you don’t have to go w/ a big name brand. They don’t necessarily sound better than lesser known brands. You should try out several brands before you pick one.
