Guitar Trem Nut

Why does my guitar slip out of tune when I use the whammy bar (floating trem)? What’s wrong with my setup?
I have an Ibanez RG with an Edge-Pro floating trem bridge. I know how the locking nuts work, how to tune properly, set the bridge level, re-string, etc… but I’m having problems with the trem. Everytime I use the whammy bar, it goes out of tune, esp. if I try to do crazy divebombs and stuff. Is it something simple, like not tightening the locks enough, or too much, or is there something bigger wrong with my setup? It’s a higher-end Ibanez, so I know it’s a good instrument, but I did buy it used.
No way to answer your question without actually seeing and playing the guitar myself. You know it’s important to stretch the strings really well before locking down. The strings could be getting hung up somewhere when you slacken them. That doesn’t usually happen with a locking system but it is possible. Your best bet is to take it to a good tech.
