How much could I sell my used Ibanez EDA 900 Bass Guitar for? (roughly)?
It is an Ibanez EDA 900, 4-string, silver luthite body. The bass is in good condition overall. The body is perfect except for one hairline scratch above the pick-up (hidden when you play obviously) that is roughly half an inch long. There are some things that I think need adjusting, for example the action is way too high. Overall, I would say the condition is very good except for the scratch.
Also, how much lower would a music store typically pay to buy it off of you? Any store that buys and sells used, in my past experience, has been a total rip-off to the buyer and seller. I would love the conveniance of unloading it today, but I am not going to sell it for 150 just to have a store turn around and sell it for twice that.
I am only looking for rough estimates, but the more specific the better. Thanks for any knowledgable answers.
Ibanez guitars really don’t bring too much money unless they are vintage models, but here is the info you wanted according to the 2007 Blue Book of Electric Guitars….
They had an original list price of $800 and sell for up to $600 in new condition (mint with all tags and papers) down to about $250 in average played condition.
If you were to trade this in expect 50% to 75% of these values, and selling it to a store that purchases used gear will get you 25% to 50% of the values.
