Is changing guitar strings hard?
Can I do serious damage to the guitar? I’m not stupid enough to hit it with a hammer or anything, but if i put the strings in wrong, am i going to break something?
The only way you could possible damage the guitar is to put too heavy a gauge strings on it which can bend the neck. If you use regular strings (e.g. 9 thou 1st) it’s not likely to cause a problem. Make a note of how the old ones are fitted before you remove them and put the new ones on. Use an electronic guitar tuner to tune them up. Bear in mind you’ll have to “play the new strings in”. You need to play them for a while as there is a certain amount of stretching of new strings before they settle in. An hour or two of regular playing usually works or 30 minutes of Hawkwind’s Master of the Universe riff.
