how can you tell if a guitar is steel string or nylon string guitar?
I have an acoustic guitar and I’m pretty sure it is a steel string but I’m not completely sure.
Technically, you can put either type of strings on any acoustic guitar. They will both work. Typically nylon strings are found on classical guitars. You should look at the tuning pegs. If they go through the headstock like in this image (http://www.tasset.com/images/stagg/c837s.jpg) then you should use nylon strings. If the tuning pegs don’t go through, like this image(http://thejetmedic.com/Documents/Pre%201974%20Headstock.jpg) Then you need steel strings.
