Tuning a Guitar..electronic tool, help!?
i just started playing like 2 days ago.. i got a tuner with the guitar.. qwik tune :guitar professor is the name of it.. i have no idea how to use this thing.. sorry to be so new.. just picked the hobby up and i am lost.. i just now 2 days later figured out what half the stuff on the guitar is called.. any TIPS on guitar playing and tuning is helpful..
alright dude so heres whats good with that tuner you got, you know how to turn it on rigt? just press that purple button and a little needle should show up on the screen. now when u look at your guitar( like your holding it like your about to play) the top string is the “E” string , its called this because thats the note it should make when its plucked, now moving down the rest of the strings are as follows, A, D, G, B, e. there are two E strings on the guitar and they shouldnt sound the same due to the fact that the top one is an octave lower, but youll learn more about that as you go on with your guitar and when you start learning more, now pluck your top E string and what you have to do is watch that needle, you need to either tighten or loosen that string to get the needle in the middle and until the light is green, you tighten and loosen the string by turning the tuning machines on the head of the guitar, those six little twisty things are them. when the strings are new they need to be brokien in a little bit so when u first tune your guitar , it may come out of tune pretty quickly liek maybe even before your done tunning your whole guitar, so what i would recommend doing is just pulling a little bit on the strings after you tuned them then re-tune ‘em. this should get you in tune and ready to rock. anymore questions feel free to ask.
