How can i stop the ringing noise that comes from my guitar when i have my pickup covers on?
I Have a marshall half stack and my guitar works fine when hooked up, i have a dean ml x by the way with the stock zebra pickups. anyways i bought these pickup silver covers and put them on and whenever i hook the guitar to my amp it makes a really loud ringing noise..any help?
pickup covers have to be grounded – your pickups themselves might be microphonic, and the covers are exacerbating the problem. Take the guitar to a pro luthier to determine what’s going on and perhaps to install the pickup covers professionally.
Most people take pickup covers OFF for rock and metal, tho… you get a little more gain that way. Consider whether you really need them at all.
