My Guitar fell and Intonation is off. Help?
I have a Fender Squier that just fell from it’s guitar stand. the impact was to the middle of the neck – it hit the corner of my bed (which is metal) – the actual fret wire popped out and there is a small chip out on the bottom of the fretboard (which won’t affect playability). The fret popped right back in place…all the way into the fretboard, but now there is a “dead spot” one fret below…it buzzes on all six strings – this at the 8th fret and the impact happened after the 9th fret. This is a fixed bridged guitar.
What can I do?
this is my only guitar.
thanksThats no big deal. The fret has to be placed in correctly and if it is a millimeter to high, it will buzz and that fret will have the same note as the fret following it.
Get it reglued and set right. Usually I amply a small amoung of glue and sit the fret with a special tool to make sure it is well anchored. It shouldn’t cost you more than $5 to $10 MAX to fix and takes 10 min. at the most.
