Bringing guitar on airplane?
Beginning of July I am flying from Maryland to Indiana and I have to bring my Fender strat (an electric guitar) with me. Theres no way I’m checking it through with all the other luggage and I am not shipping it and I am not going to buy one of those $300 flight cases. The only thing I can think of is for me to bring it with me actually on the plane and put it in the overhead OR put it where people hang garments and such.
So, question is… would they let me keep it in the overhead and would it fit?? Or would they let me keep in the closet? I’m not talking about a huge dreadnought. But this is a $1500 Ltd. Edition Fender Strat that belongs to my uncle, he’s letting me borrow, so it has GOT to stay with me and stay in the best care possible! Thanks and God bless,I’m sure it will be fine. I see people traveling with guitars all the time, as well as all sorts of musical instruments for that matter, from trumpets to guitars to saxophones, what have you….
If the guitar won’t fit into the overhead, talk to the flight attendants, they should be able to work something out with you. Flight attendants tend to be relatively understanding of peoples’ needs and the vast majority of them have already seen everything already, so your situation won’t be new to them. Enjoy your flight!
