Tips for painting on unusual mediums?
I specifically want to paint on a guitar case. The conventional black hard-case kind. How do I get paint to stay on the case permanently, without chipping, etc?
Usually if you sand (use sandpaper) the surface of an object prior to painting then lacquer it when you are done it should stay put.
You should try acrylic paints. You can usually dilute them for different effects, almost like a wash in the background, or keep them rich for depth. The end result has been comparable to resemblances of oil painted pieces.
