i plugged the head of my guitar amplifier into my microphone input, now im getting no sound from my speakers?
it appears everything is working, and hooked up properly. the speakers ARE working (there is a hum). the sound card is shown as working, and the mixer on my computer shows sound when i play songs. HELPPP pleasee
I’m hoping you connected the ‘line’ or ‘recording’ or ‘direct’ out – not the speaker out. If you put speaker level power to the mic in you could do some real damage to the channel input. And possibly the amp, too.
Try an external source to rule out the speakers (they are likely ok). Then just see if you can get sound from the card to your speakers. After that, check a source prevoiusly known to work through the system – checking input. As I’m sure you know, any internal setting could prevent proper operation. Sounds like a sound card problem if there is no input or output.
Good luck. You might want to look at an external interface that connects either by USB or FireWire – you get physical connections and controls. Much easier.
