What electric guitar strings to use?
I am getting a Squire Stratocaster along with Sperzel ocking tuners and Graph Tech import saddles. I will put graphite on the nut too. I want to know what are the best strings for this guitar when it is used for mainly rock and a little bit of reggae on the side. I will use the out of factory spring setup for the fulcrum tremolo.
i used ernie ball hybrids with my guitar (les paul) at home and its great, but i don’t know how it would be with a strat. I also want to ask what gauge of strings i should get.
it was a les paul copy buy epiphoneI’ve been using D’Addario XLs (.09 gauge) for 20 years, and they have never disappointed me. I’ve played everything on them – jazz, funk, thrash metal, you name it. They have a great tone, stay in tune well and they withstand lots of whammy bar abuse without breaking. In all of the years I’ve used them, I’ve only had to deal with a broken string ONCE at a live show – and that’s out of a hell of a lot of shows.
